Slips to Landing (w/ & w/o airbrakes)

Lesson Objective

This lesson is to have the student demonstrate the ability to use either a forward slip (previously practiced at atltitude in Lesson 4d), on the final approach.  Use the forward slip primarly for altitude loss, and the side slip for runway alignment or lateral re-positioning.  

Regulatory Requirement

Completion Standards

The student must be able to perform
  • A forward slip on the final leg of the approach to landing
  • A side slip on the finalleg of the approach to landing
